I was surprised when I heard Toledo had a Melting Pot. I would have never thought the city I live in would stray from our steak, potatoes, sports bars and chain dining. This restaurant is my normal vacation dining spot, now I can escape from the depressing econmony of Toledo, right at home.  Awesome food, service and the atmosphere is by farrrr the best in town.  Where else can I hang out an hour or two if I like and the staff isn’t circling like sharks trying to get me out of there.  SERVICE, SMILES & NOT JUST STEAK!

Good service, good food.  I was not a fan of the small booths you sit in if you are a party of 2.  Also, the bottled beer is overpriced.

This may be one of the most unique eating experiences I have ever had.  Its somewhat similar to a hibachi grill, where your food is cooked right in front of you, but instead of a chef preparing food for you, you get to be the cook!  Your meal starts out with cheese fondue, of which you can choose anything from traditional Swiss fondue to their own unique blends of cheeses and spices, and you can specify how its made right there at the table.  Dinner fondue is next, and they bring you your vegetables and marinated meats that you cook yourself in the fondue pot.  When you’re done, chocolate fondue is of course on the menu.

Its really quite a different experience from any other restaurant, and you certainly pay for the experience, but its a great place to go for a really nice dinner.  Comparatively, though, prices are similar to what you would pay at a place like the cheesecake factory or another high-end restaurant, and the waiters and waitresses are exceptionally knowledgeable and friendly (they are also the ones who prepare much of your fondue for you.)  Its also the kind of authentic European experience where you will spend about 3 hours for your meal.  But if you’ve got the budget to eat really nice every once in a while, there’s no good reason not to try fondue.  Except, of course, if you don’t like food.
